Lifestream Astazan contains 4mg per capsule of astaxanthin, a naturally occurring red carotenoid derived from the algae Heamatococcus Pluvialis. Carotenoids are the natural pigments which give fruits, vegetables and flowers their deep colours; as humans are incapable of producing them, these important carotenoids need to be obtained from our diet. In nature, Astaxanthin is responsible for the splendid pink colouring of flamingos and seafood such as trout, salmon, prawns and lobster. Studies and information show astaxanthin's potent antioxidant activity, and its cellular protective properties. Astaxanthin is similar to beta-catotene but a slight difference in structure results in a radical difference in biological activity. It is stronger than other natural antioxidants including beta carotene and is up to 100 times stronger than vitamin E as an antioxidant.

Safflower oil, Haematococcus pluvialis algae (providing Astaxanthin), Vitamin E, Vegetarian capsule shell (corn starch, carrageenan seaweed extract, sorbitol, glycerin, water).

Adults: Take one capsule per day with food. For optimum results take 1 capsules with a meal 3 times daily for an initial 2-week period. After two weeks reduce to a maintenance dose of 1-3 capsules daily as required.

Children (6-12 years): As directed by your health professional.
