This oil is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops of the basil plant. There are many chemotypes of this oil but the sweet Basil has a higher percentage of linalool, which is regarded as safe to use in aromatherapy. Sweet basil is enlivening, comforting and helpful for clarity and strength of mind as well as body systems.

SOil essential oils and carrier oils are living products that are vulnerable to heat, moisture, air and light. It is best to store them in a cool, dark place with the lids well sealed.
